My oldest don turned eleven in June, and since then, it has been jarring how fast he has blossomed into a full-fledged tween. Today on Scary Mommy, I focus on the bright side of his new status and stick my head firmly into the sand about the teenager I’ll soon have. Hope you will check it out. I loved this article. I also have four kids and I also just acquired my own model of tween. he turned 12 this August (Aug 17th) (as did I, Aug 10! We are ALL Leos!)
i especially appreciated the bit about his ability to take care of himself. i am so grateful to be able to actually leave the house to run a quick errand without having to lug all four kids along as well. he can actually watch the others now, if it isn’t for too long and I am not going too far. That in itself is a godsend.
And, I kinda like my son’s sense of humor too. Mostly when it is not at my expense!
